Fade-in on photos
There are reported issues from users with customized templates that occasionally the fading-in of photos does not work. This is related to other images that you may have included on the Blog page of your site failing to load. If you use external images (images hosted somewhere other than the pixyBlog servers) then there is a possibility that at some stage these images won't load. This can be due to network problems between the user and the servers hosting the external images or perhaps the images have been removed from the host altogether. The fade-in script depends on fully loading the whole page before the fading-in starts, and when the external images fail to load this can cause the main photo not to fade-in.
To combat this you can simply not use external images on your Blog page, instead you can upload the required images to your File Uploads area and link to them there instead. Another option would be to remove the fade-in script, for more information on this script read our template guide.
Watermarks on photos vary in size
At the moment the watermarking works relative to the proportions of the photo, so when you create a watermark you specify the percentage it should cover the photo. This means that when a photo is landscape as opposed to portrait the watermark would appear a different size. This is done by design, but we understand that it may not be what everyone wants. We are now looking at extending the capabilities of watermarking and also addressing this issue so that users can specify either static or relative sizes for their watermarks.
Pop-up search in IE and Safari
We know of some problems with the way the pop-up search box for some of our Themes appears in Internet Explorer and Safari browsers. On IE the search box can appear in the wrong location and in Safari the search box may not stay active/visible. We are working on a solution to this and hope to get it updated shortly.
Clicking a thumbnail shows the raw image and not the framed pop-up image
This can happen when clicking a thumbnail when the page has not fully loaded. The script which makes the thumbnails fade-in to a nicely framed central image requires the whole page to load fully before it runs. So if the thumbnails are still loading when you click one, then the script will not run and you will see just the image file. We use a third-party script to get this functionality and this is a known problem with that script.
